Bio
Meet Dave! Born and raised in South Jersey, Dave moved to Philly to attend Drexel University. After graduating, in 2010, Dave worked as an executive in the corporate interior design industry. During his time at Drexel he fell in love with Philly. When Dave started conceiving the Dilo concept he wanted the influence of Philly to come through in a huge way.
Origin Story
In late 2015, early 2016, Dave started building the concept for the Dilo brand. Around the same time, he and his wife, Alexandra, were not thrilled with the candle offerings they saw at some of their favorite local shops. Dave began to experiment with fragrance products and ultimately decided to start the company based around these types of products.
Dave launched Dilo in 2017 from his home. By the end of the year, he moved into Philly to fulfill his desire to be a Made in Philly product. Originally just a production space, Dilo now has its own little retail shop. Candles are still Dave’s bread and butter, but Dilo has started to branch out to other products such as socks and hats. And, don’t worry if you can’t make it to the Fishtown shop as you can find Dilo products all over Philly!
