Meet Kimberly! The sustainably and ethically minded woman behind Grant Blvd. She doesn’t want to ride the wave, she wants to be the wave!

Bio

Meet Kimberly! Kimberly grew up on the northside of Milwauakee, Wisconsin. She is the daughter of union workers and small business owners, people involved in activism through business ownership and outside of it. Her appreciation of story and impact grounds the values of her work. As CEO & Founder of Grant Blvd, a sustainable manufacturing start-up, she seeks to create living wage employment opportunities in sustainable fashion for folks from disenfranchised communities. “We design with the planet and people in mind. That intersection is at the heart of our purpose.”

Origin Story

Kimberly founded Grant Blvd after watching Ava Duvernay’s “13th” back in 2016. It helped her to see the criminal system from a new altitude and motivated her to use her time and talents to become a different kind of advocate. Kimberly loves architecture and design. Grant Blvd is her creative expression of all she knows and loves.

Roses and Thorns

“I love our community- their commitment, their values, their support, their diversity. I struggle with what’s been normalized in the fashion industry- it remains anchored in the exploitation of the poor and the exploitation of our finite natural resources.”
